Well as I write this it is only about 16 hours to the Rock Ness festival, in case you have not heard William Hill have teamed up with the organizers to offer a one million pound reward to anyone that can provide proof that Nessie exists. Also at the festival 50,000 cameras are to be handed out, which sounds like fun :)
Much as I would have liked to go I am down the other end of the country and have work commitments, if anyone reading this does go let me know how it turns out :)
You can find more at http://www.rockness.co.uk, althoughit is not much of a site I'm sure more will be added if anything is spotted :)

Nessie rises again.
Yep, it is coming up to that time of the year when sightings of the Loch Ness Monster start to increase, and the fakers come out to play. Here is the latest video supposedly of good old Nessie which was released on the 28th May.
This also includes a small interview with Adrian Shine ( runs the Loch Ness Project ), of all the scientists he probably knows the most about this fascinating lake and the myths and legends that surround it.
Something else I find interesting about this clip is the way the guy who took the video ( Gordon Holmes ) is described as an 'amateur scientist' .... Just make me wonder what one of those is and how you qualify ??
Anyway take a look and see what you think.

200mph+ model car
When I was a kid ( and for a few years afterwards ) I used to have a few RC model cars, some of which were pretty fast ..... But nothing compared to this.
200mph + for a model car is amazing.
Sorry about no posts over the last 2 days but have been busy catching up with work after my time off ill, now back at it :)

Some interesting links
Hi Folks,
Well I know it has not be long since my last entry but of sick today,
have also suggested that girlfriend stays away as don't want to pass on
cold to her so I am tucked up in bed with the laptop and pretty bored :)
For this entry I thought I would share with you my favourite weird
bookmarks, so in alphabetical order here we go :
CryptoZoology.com
Nice site, but mainly for the forum.
Fortean Times
If you are reading this then it should need no introduction :)
Google Video
Always good for a laugh, just don't take anything you see seriously !
Improbable Research
This is a great site and home of the IG Nobel Prizes,
basically these are handed out each year to research that first makes
people laugh .... Then makes them think.
James Randi Eductational Foundation
Probably one of the best debunkers around at the moment.
Mysterious Britain
Covers a wide range of topics, good for browsing round.
UFO Digest
Some interesting reading.
Unexplained Mysteries
Great site, definately one to bookmark
As I said, I am on the laptop so will update this once on my main
computer.
All the best.

Cryptozoology
Hi Folks,
To kick of the first real post here we go with Cryptozoology, defined as :
Cryptozoology (from Greek: κρυπτός, kryptós, "hidden"; ζôιον, zôion, "animal"; and λόγος, logos, "knowledge" or "study" – c.f. zoology) is the search for animals hypothesized to exist, but for which conclusive proof is missing. The field also includes the search for known animals believed to be extinct.
Now if you had a look at my profile you will see I list it as one of my interests, so do I believe in creatures such as BigFoot / Loch Ness Monster etc ?
Well actually .... No. I still have an open mind but as of yet I have seen nothing that would suggest to me they exist, if you know of evidence PLEASE let me know. What I find fascinating about this area is what it can tell us about US as human beings, that need for some mystery in life especially now we live in a society where there is really little left for the average person to discover ... Apart from kowledge of course, but that is not quite the same.
It also intrigues me just to see all the theories and what people are willing to say.
Here is a great piece from Penn and Teller, where they set out to look at Cyptozoology ( Strong language ) :

I just love the way they take things apart, might not be the most scientific of debunking but it definately the most entertaining :)
So am I believer or sceptic ?
Well without doubt there are many creatures yet to be discovered, however most of these will probably just be small worms and such :) As far as the more famous ones go ( Big Foot, Loch Ness Monster etc ) I have to say on the ballance of evidence I do not believe they exist.
The main problem is the amount of rubbish being posted as sightings and other evidence that is being published on the internet. A quick trawl through any community will turn up a lot of examples of 'evidence' that has previously ( sometimes by several years ) been proved to be wrong ... But they are still being used. The other problem is that a lot of things are being taken from films / documentaries which have used the latest CG to produce great effects, short snippets are then used and posted as genuine. Have a look through YouTube and search for Cryptozoology .... I did not find anything there that was new or interesting. The only thing that did intrigue me was some of the comments ... Surely people arn't that stupid ????
Wishing you all the best.

Welome to the start of a strange journey
Hi Folks,
Well I suppose this first post should tell you a little about what you can expect to find on this blog in the coming months / years.
First of all it has NOTHING to do with my business, so no adverts etc .... However in my working on-line I do come across some stuff which is strange / interesting or just plain weird and thought I would share it all with you ... Or at least as much as time allows.
So basically expect the unexpected ! .... Everything from neat gadgets to UFO's. I have not written down exactly what is going in here but basically if me makes me go what, wow, why or just laugh out loud will include it.
Lastly please feel free to contact me with any suggestions you may have.
Wishing you all the best.
